Qualifying Criteria
The New Entrepreneurs category aims to recognise fledging Entrepreneurs who have demonstrated keen business acumen, innovation and creativity in differentiating their businesses in the market.
(A) The Participant:
i. Has been operating the business for a period of more than 2 years but less than 7 years
ii. Owns at least 30% of the Company’s shares. Candidates who possess less than 30% ownership must submit an endorsement letter from the Company’s Board of Directors.
iii. Is a Singaporean or Permanent Resident above the age of 18
(B) The Participant’s Company:
i. Has at least 30% local equity
ii. Is not a listed company or a subsidiary of a listed company
iii. Has at least 3 years of financial statements, which must be submitted for evaluation. Companies that have been in operation for less than 3 years may submit 2 years of financial statements.
NOTE: Executive Council Members of ASME, Board of Directors of Rotary Club of Singapore and members of the Award Organising Committee are not eligible to participate in the EYA.
The Established Entrepreneurs category aims to recognise veteran businessmen who possess the tenacity and resourcefulness that bring their enterprises to success, while embracing innovation and keeping with the changing business landscape and maintaining a strong foothold in the business arena.
(A) The Participant:
i. Has been operating the business for more than 7 years
ii. Owns at least 30% of the Company’s shares. Candidates who possess less than 30% ownership must submit an endorsement letter from the Company’s Board of Directors.
iii. Is a Singaporean or Permanent Resident above the age of 21
(B) The Participant’s Company:
i. Has at least 30% local equity
ii. Is not a listed company or a subsidiary of a listed company
iii. Has at least 3 years of financial statements, which must be submitted for evaluation
NOTE: Executive Council Members of ASME, Board of Directors of Rotary Club of Singapore and members of the Award Organising Committee are not eligible to participate in the EYA.
